Announcements.

You are invited to a Chicken Barbeque this afternoon at Danny and Frances Weaver’s home. Bring lawn chairs and a side dish to share. We will start cooking chicken around 3:00 and hope to eat around 4:30.

There will be a prayer meeting at SMC this Wednesday at 7:30 pm.

Friday the 25th of September is the next opportunity for a “Parents’ Night Out”. Feel free to bring your children to the church from 6:00-10:00 for free childcare, provided this week by Marvin and Florence Showalter.

“I’d Like to Buy an Enemy” will be presented on Monday evening, Sept. 21 at 7:00 p.m. at the Bridgewater Church of the Brethren.

The Augusta Regional Free Clinic will be holding a tip night fundraiser at the Depot Grille in Staunton on September 21st, beginning at 5:00 pm. All tips from the evening will go toward operating expenses at the clinic.

There will be a fundraiser for the Cri Du Chat Foundation for Children on Saturday the 26th from 6:30-9:30 on the lawn of the Buckhorn Inn. Live music will be provided by Borderline for a donation of $5 per person. Food will also be available for purchase.

The Virginia Mennonite Relief Sale will be held October 2nd-3rd. There will be food, fellowship, and fundraising all for a good cause. Pie pans, suggested donation lists, and grocery bags are available in the fellowship hall for those wishing to donate items. Please notice the special project this year includes gathering non-perishable food for the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank.

Prayer Concerns

  • Please pray for the Relief Sale and all those providing leadership
  • Pray for those in our community that the kingdom of God may be made known to them.

Mark 10:14b, “Let the little children come to me; do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs.

Thank you for joining us in worship today.  If this is your first time at Staunton Mennonite,
please fill out the “Welcome” card in the back of the pew and place it in the offering plate.
