"Sister Care: Equipping Women for Caring Ministry" is the topic of this year's Mennonite Women of Virginia retreat Sept. 21-23 in Lynchburg. This Wednesday, July 11, at 1 p.m. at the EMU library, the retreat committee will be stuffing envelopes of brochures and envelopes. The committee welcomes your help! Deona Houff is on the committee and will be glad to carpool. Call her at 294-2183 if interested.

Our annual Ice Cream Social will be held at Gypsy Hill Park on July 17th. We will plan to meet around 6:00 pm. Please bring sandwiches and a side to share. If you have an ice cream maker and are interested in making ice cream, please see Kathy.

Our 2012 Penny Power donations will be split evenly between tornado relief work in West Liberty, KY and Mennonite Central Committee’s ongoing relief efforts in the Middle East countries of Syria and Lebanon.

Please Prayer For:

  • Those cleaning up and repairing after the recent storms.
  • Phil, Anje, Everett, and John Cassel as they move back to Augusta County this week.
  • Florence Showalter as she experiences bad pain.
  • Paul Duncan, recovering from heart surgery.
  • Teresa Showalter as she heals following surgery to remove a cancerous kidney.

Mark 6:6, “He was amazed at their lack of faith.
Then Jesus went around teaching from village to village.”

Thank you for joining us in worship today.  If this is your first time at Staunton Mennonite,
please fill out the “Welcome” card in the back of the pew and place it in the offering plate.
