Announcements

We are collecting toilet paper for the Valley Mission through the end of May. Please bring your donations to the front of the sanctuary before the service or during the Penny Power offering.

Our offering today will be split evenly and distributed to support the ministries of Virginia Mennonite Conference and Virginia Mennonite Missions.

You are invited to a comforter-knotting party this Wednesday at the church, beginning at 6:30. No experience is necessary. Dessert will be served after the comforters have been knotted. All comforters will be donated to Mennonite Central Committee and distributed to refugees.

On Sunday, May 26th, we will welcome the Bethel Mountain Band to our worship service. We will have a social time from 9:30-10:00 with the band playing its first set from 10:00-10:30. Our regular worship time will include some of the usual elements but the band will lead us in an extended time of worship.

Do you have non-clothing items that you are interested in getting rid of for a good cause? Staunton Mennonite will be hosting a yard sale for the Alzheimer’s Association on June 15th. Please bring your items to the church the first two weeks of June.

Please Prayer For:

  • Those who have been affected by the recent bombing in Boston, explosion in Texas, and other disasters around the world.

  • Jim Duncan as he heals following open-heart surgery.

  • Bill Charles, BJ Rohr and Merton Greenleaf, our friends and family dealing with cancer and its treatment.

2 Samuel 18:33b, “My son, my son Absalom! If only I had died instead of you.”
