All: Ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. Worship the
Lord in holy splendor.
Leader: God the Creator moves over the water, creating light out
of darkness.
All: The voice of the Lord is powerful.
Leader: The Holy Spirit comes upon the baptized and they speak
in tongues and prophesy.
All: The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness.
Leader: Jesus comes to the wilderness for baptism and a voice
from heaven says, “You are my Son, the Beloved; with
you I am well pleased.”
All: All in God’s temple say, “Glory.”ulness we treasure the immeasurable riches of
Christ.

Confessing/ Reconciling

Jesus, the Beloved Son, convict us where we need to repent.
Call us out of darkness. Show us the places where we have
failed.
(pause for silence)
Jesus, the Beloved Son, you walk with us every day and you
love us. We are grateful for your unfailing mercy. Amen.

Sending

Leader: God, as you spoke the light into being,
People: speak to us.
Leader: As you spoke in the wilderness through John and Jesus,
People: speak to us.
Leader: Open our eyes to hear your voice. Open our mouths to
speak your healing and hope.
All: God, speak to us, and speak through us. Amen.
