Please pray for:

• Those who are lonely, hungry, or suffering this Christmas season

• Lonny and Carrie Wenger as they welcome their new son to this world!
• Those who have been hurt or scared by recent events at Riverheads High School,
and for those who have done the hurting and scaring of others.
• Those who are lonely, hungry, or suffering this Christmas season

Luke 1:52-53, “He has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble. He has filled the hungry with good things but has sent the rich away empty.”

Call to Worship

Leader: Our souls magnify you, our God.
Our spirits rejoice in you, our Savior.
People: You have looked with favor on your lowly servants;
because of you we are called “blessed.”
Leader: You have scattered the proud
and brought down the mighty.
People: You have raised up the lowly and filled the hungry.
Leader: You have remembered your mercy,
helping those in need and their descendants forever.
All: Praise. Praise God’s holy name.

Praying

God who labors in love for the world, like Mary make us bold
to question angels. Like Mary, help us pray: your word be
done. Like Mary, stir our hearts to ponder what you do. Like
Mary, prepare us for the birth of Christ. - adapted from Sing the Story #134

Sending

With the joy that was Mary’s,
may our souls magnify the Lord,
and our bodies be the means
through which you continue
the mighty work of salvation
for which Christ came. Amen. - adapted from Sing the Story #132
