Announcements

The annual Southern District Hymn Sing will be held this evening at Springdale Mennonite, beginning at 6:00pm. This service will focus on “Hymns of Praise and Celebration of God’s Mission,” as we will hear musical selections from our congregations, as well as stories of local ministries affiliated with Virginia Mennonite Missions. Please bring a light snack to share after the service. A free-will offering will be taken for Virginia Mennonite Missions.

There will be a Maundy Thursday service at Staunton Mennonite on March 24, 6:30 pm, to celebrate the Lord’s Supper, read scripture, and join together in song.

Staunton Mennonite Church will be altering our morning schedule on Easter Sunday, March 27. We will have a carry-in breakfast, beginning at 8:30, and the worship service will begin at 10:00. There will be no Sunday school on Easter, but if we finish breakfast early, we will plan to meet in the sanctuary to sing Easter hymns.

There will be a prayer meeting this Wednesday beginning at 7:00pm.

Did you receive a tax refund and don’t know what to do with it? We are trying to pay down the balance on our rental house and will be collecting additional funds through April 15. Please consider earmarking an extra donation for the rental property with “303 Grubert” in the memo line.

Please pray for:

• Sylvia’s parents, as they both deal with health concerns.
• Marvin Showalter as he heals from bilateral knee surgery.
• Our friends and family members traveling over spring break and the Easter holiday

Call to Worship

Leader: Give thanks to the Lord—God is good!
All: God’s steadfast love endures forever!
Leader: This is the day that the Lord has made.
All: Let us rejoice and be glad in it!
Leader: Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!
All: The Lord our God has given us light!
Leader: Give thanks to the Lord—God is good!
All: God’s steadfast love endures forever!

Confessing/Reconciling

Lord, we confess that our motives, desires, and passions have not
been pure—we have not been living into the truth of your good news
story. We confess that we have often acted in destructive ways as we live
out of our brokenness rather than out of your healing, redeeming love.
Help us to find our refuge in you. Forgive us, heal us, and reconcile us,
O God, so that we may be the living ink of your covenant love in all
our relationships: with you, with each other, and with all of creation we
pray. Amen.

Assurance

God’s goodness is accomplished abundantly for those who take refuge in him.

Sending

Almighty and gracious God, for loving us in our vulnerabilities, we
are thankful. Inspire us to love others as radically as you love us. Amen.

Lent–Easter worship resources are produced cooperatively by Mennonite Church
