Acts 23:6b-7, “‘My brothers, I am a Pharisee, descended from Pharisees. I stand on trial because of the hope of the resurrection of the dead.’ When he said this, a dispute broke out between the Pharisees and the Sadducees, and the assembly was divided.”

You are witnesses

Affirming Faith

Leader: If we love Jesus, we keep his Word.
People: Jesus makes his home with us.
Leader: God has sent the Holy Spirit in Jesus’ name. The Spirit teaches
us everything and reminds us of Jesus’ words.
People: Jesus gives us his peace.
Leader: Jesus does not give like the world gives.
People: We will not let our hearts be troubled. We will not be afraid.
All: Jesus, we believe.

Offering

Lord of all good gifts, you call us to share both good news and resources
as your witnesses. Just as you called Paul to proclaim the gospel
in Macedonia, give us a vision for sharing your good news with those
who long to hear it. Open our hearts and our hands as you did Lydia’s,
so we might give

Sending

May God be gracious to us and bless us. May the face of God shine
upon us, not for our glory, but so that God’s saving power might be
known among all nations. Let all peoples praise God! Let the ends of
the earth revere the Lord. -
Sarah Bixler, Princeton, New Jersey
