Staunton Mennonite Church will not be holding Sunday School through the months of June and July. Instead there will be a time of fellowship before the worship service from 10:00 – 10:25. Coffee and light refreshments will be served. There is a sign-up sheet on the church bulletin board for those wishing to provide refreshments.

There will be a Prayer Meeting this Wednesday, beginning at 7:30 pm.

Highland Retreat’s annual Steak BBQ and summer staff commissioning service will be held at the campgrounds the afternoon and evening of Saturday, June 25. There will be a commissioning service, afternoon activities, delicious rib-eye steak, a concert by “The Walking Roots Band” and more. Visit www.highlandretreat.org for more details.

We will have a carry-in fellowship meal after church next Sunday. Please bring a dish or two to share.

You are invited to enjoy a Mediterranean-style meal and hear Steve and Laura Campbell, VMM missionaries, share their experiences of God at work in Montenegro. The event will be held Thursday, June 30, 6pm at Park View Mennonite Church. A kabob and baklava meal will be provided by Bowl of Good. All proceeds go toward supporting the Campbells' third mission term in Montenegro. RSVP to Steve and Laura Campbell at stevelaura1118@gmail.com, or 540-214-0322.

Please pray for:

• Those who have been affected by the mass shooting in Orlando.
• Leah Huyard and the EMHS Touring Choir as they explore Europe this week.
• Those who are traveling over the summer break.

Children of God
23 Before the coming of this faith,[a] we were held in custody under the law, locked up until the faith that was to come would be revealed. 24 So the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith. 25 Now that this faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian.

26 So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, 27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.his mother and said, “Look, your son is alive!”

No one truly knows Christ unless they follow Him daily in life" - Hans Denck

You are all children of God

Gathering

Leader: Come, people of God, diverse and beloved.
All: We come, ready to meet our brothers and sisters in Christ.
Leader: Come, you faithful generations.
All: We come, ready to meet our God.
Leader: Come and clothe yourselves in Christ’s love.
All: We come, ready to meet even the “other,” for we are all heirs
of God’s promise and hope.

Praying (post sermon)

Often we are bound, oppressed by these mean times in which
we live.
Outcasts and enemies are made daily by mad vainglory, greed, and
idols of fear. The heart and soul of our nations lie wounded, hearts
turned to stone. All creation groans, awaiting freedom for the sons and
daughters of Adam and Eve.
Jesus, may your strong name lift the veil of darkness surrounding us
all. Unshackle the deadweight of a culture bent on death.
Put our feet firmly on the ground. Raise us up in our right mind.
Let us know your face anew, glory everywhere, your blessing for all your
beloved ones. Amen.

Sending

With all the earth, go now and rejoice in our Creator’s greatness!
Seek the face of Christ in all you meet—the poor and afflicted, the
families of all nations, the humblest creature, those who walk the courts
of power. Remember God in all your comings and goings. Pray to be
faithful. Go in peace and serve the Lord.
