Announcements

Staunton Mennonite Church will not be holding Sunday School through the months of June and July. Instead there will be a time of fellowship before the worship service from 10:00 – 10:25. Coffee and light refreshments will be served.

You are invited to attend the worship services for the annual Virginia Mennonite Conference Assembly, July 21-22, beginning each night at 6:45. Thursday’s worship service will include a sermon by Drew Hart, faculty member at Messiah College. Friday’s service will feature a message from MCUSA moderator Patty Shelly.

Please pray for:

• Those who have been affected by the tragedies in Orlando, Istanbul, and West Virginia.
• Those who are traveling over the summer break.

Galatians 6:1-10New International Version (NIV)

Doing Good to All
Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves. Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else, for each one should carry their own load. Nevertheless, the one who receives instruction in the word should share all good things with their instructor.

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

Right side: how awesome are God’s works.
Left side: Come and see what God has done.
Right side: Along with all the earth, bow and worship God.
All: Bless our God, O people.

Praying

Lord of the harvest,
we are willing laborers.
Lord of the harvest,
send us to the fields. Amen.

Witnessing

Creator of planting and harvest,
we pray that whatever we plant will grow.
We will plant good seeds,
we will tend good deeds,
expecting a harvest of eternal lives.
