Announcements

Staunton Mennonite Church will not be holding Sunday School through the months of June, July, and August. Instead there will be a time of fellowship before the worship service from 10:00 – 10:25. Coffee and light refreshments will be served.

You are invited to attend the worship services for the annual Virginia Mennonite Conference Assembly, July 21-22, beginning each night at 6:45. Thursday’s worship service will include a sermon by Drew Hart, faculty member at Messiah College. Friday’s service will feature a message from MCUSA moderator Patty Shelly.

Virginia Mennonite Conference Assembly is “Calling all Singers!” The Choir of Park View Mennonite Church invites you to joins us to sing “Total Praise,” by Richard Smallwood for the opening session, Thursday evening, July 21. This is a newly written gospel song which will certainly be familiar to some of you. Please join us for a brief rehearsal at 6 p.m. before the worship service. Music will be available

Please pray for:

• An end to the hatred, violence, and killings in our country and around the world.
• Those who are traveling over the summer break.

Genesis 18:1, “The Lord appeared to Abraham near the great trees of Mamre while he was sitting at the entrance to his tent in the heat of the day.”

The mystery . . . has now been revealed

Gathering

Leader: Lord, who may dwell in your tent?
People: The one whose walk is blameless and who does what is
righteous.
Leader: Who may live on your holy mountain?
People: The one whose tongue utters no slander,
Leader: who does no wrong to a neighbor,
People: and casts no slur on others.
All: When we do these things, we will stand firm.

Confessing/Reconciling

O Lord, our intentions are pure; we want to serve you.
Yet we sometimes lose track of our intentions.
Forgive us when our servanthood becomes complaining,
when our help becomes a bother,
when our care becomes worry.
When we lose our focus, remind us to listen to your word,
for your word cannot be taken from us. Amen.

Sending

Christ is in you! Center yourself in the hope of the gospel as you
continue in faith. Proclaim with wisdom the mystery that has been
manifested to you.— Craig Oury, Boonsboro, Maryland
