Announcements

We will begin our normal Sunday school classes again next Sunday with classes offered for adults and children of all ages. If you would like more information please see Marlene Wenger.

The annual Southern District Family Fun Day is planned for September 11 from 4-7 at Waynesboro Mennonite. Come enjoy a bounce house, soccer, miniature “train” rides, and a fellowship meal. See Garlan for more details.

There will be a carry-in fellowship meal after church on September 25th. Please bring a dish or two to share.

There are pie pans available in the Fellowship Hall for those who would like to donate baked items for the Relief Sale. There are also flyers and posters available to distribute and post throughout the community.

Please pray for:

• The teachers, students, and parents as school is back in session!
• The victims of flooding in Louisiana and the earthquake in Italy.

Imitate their faith

Affirming Faith

Happy are those who fear the Lord and keep God’s commandments.
Happy are those who are filled with grace and mercy.
Happy are those who cheerfully share with those in need.
Happy are those who do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with
God.

Confessing/Reconciling

Leader: In the name of Jesus, extend love to all people.
People: Really, God? Love to all people? Some people are really hard
to love.
Leader: In the name of Jesus, show hospitality to strangers.
People: Really, God? Hospitality to strangers? In these times, that
could be dangerous.
Leader: In the name of Jesus, keep yourselves free from the love of
money.
People: Really, God? How realistic is that? After all, we want to get
ahead.
(silence)
Leader: O God, you are our helper, and we need not be afraid of living
as your people.
People: O God, you are our helper, and we need not be afraid of living
as your people. Amen.

Sending

Go into the world, and serve with kindness, mercy, and love.
