Always thankful

Gathering

(shout) God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in times of trouble!
(loud) God is our refuge and strength.
(moderate) God is our refuge.
(quiet) God is.
(whisper) Be still.
Be still and know.
Be still and know that I am God.
(silence)
The Lord of hosts is with us.
The God of Jacob is our strength.

Confessing/Reconciling

Leader: We find it so hard to be still, O God.
People: We are distracted with things to do, bills to pay, people
to please, games to play.
All: How can we be still? Our world is falling apart.
(silence)
Leader: Carry us, O Holy Spirit, to the river whose streams make
glad the city of God. God is in the midst of that city. It
shall not be moved.

Sending

As we leave this time of worship, we pray that you will strengthen
us with your glorious power. Grant us the endurance and the patience
we will need in the week ahead. Fill us with joy and make us
always thankful, for you have rescued us, purchased our freedom,
and forgiven our sins. Amen.
—Harold Schlegel, Morden, Manitoba
